The University of Wales, Newport has been involved in higher education for more than 80 years, and its roots go back even further.

It has seven academic departments: Art, Media and Design; Business and Management; Centre for Community and Lifelong Learning; Computing and Engineering; Education; Social Studies; Humanities and Science.

Coleg Gwent is the largest Further Education College in Wales and one of the five largest in the UK. The College was founded in 1992 as the result of the merger between further and tertiary education in Gwent.

It is able to offer a very wide range of quality courses at all levels, with the opportunity to study full-time or part-time, aiming to be a truly inclusive College with courses that appeal to people of all ages and interests.
