Newport Unlimited

East Bank District

A new riverfront residential community will emerge in the City Centre on the east bank of the river.

Future development will extend and connect to the existing Victoria and Maindee neighbourhoods centred around Corporation Road.

New views and connections to the river will be created and a continuous waterfront promenade will transform the eastern edge of the Usk.

The Rugby Club, existing communities and new developments will be able to access the City Centre via the new footbridge and cycle bridge.

Work on Phase 1 of development is expected to start on site during 2007.

Rodney Parade:

  • A safe and inviting pedestrian promenade along the waterfront will pass through the new riverside development and link with a wider network of paths and parks.
